Simply put, synesthesia is a condition in which people experience secondary perceptions in response to certain sensory or conceptual stimuli. For example, one may see music as colors or one can taste words. There are many different kinds of synesthesia, including but not limited to grapheme-color, lexical-gustatory, ticker-taper, ordinal linguistic personification, and many more! Synesthesia is also commonly linked with autism and found more commonly in autistic people than in allistics.
